"Conservative Con of the Week" is my new name for
the blog feature I previously called, "Republican Con of the Week"

I decided "Conservative Con" is catchier.

I post a new "Conservative Con of the Week" article each Sunday at:

1. Not to be nitpicky
but the current admistration/GOP is far from "Conservative". They may use that term but it is not reality.

2. OK, they don't embody the best of conservatism.

Do they embody the best of a Republic?

One definition at dictionary.com:

"A political order in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who are entitled to vote for officers and representatives responsible to them."

Does the Bush Admin. make you feel ike citizens have supreme power?

3. I think Conservative is too dignified a term for this bunch.
although sadly we've passed from republic to empire.

4. In the 1960s, people were proud to call themselves" liberals"
and ashamed to call themselves "conservatives."

Media figures like Rush Limbaugh have since given negative connoatations to the word "liberal" and positive connotations to the word "conservative."

To reclaim the language, we need to say we're "liberal, loud, left, and proud" (motto of my website) and use the term conservative in sentences which show that Bush and his cronies are crooks.
