Michele Bachmann chief of staff smears Colin Powell
It was only a matter of time before that happened:

Marston also dismissed Powell’s comments, saying the gender confusion was evidence that Powell was reading off a talking points memo prepared by the Obama campaign. "I would venture a guess he hadn't seen the piece at all,'' she said.

1. But you know you're out there when even Sarah Palin disses you
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/10/20/1570476.aspx

Speaking with reporters in Colorado yesterday, Palin said she does not agree with Rep. Michele Bachmann’s recent comments suggesting that some congressmen hold “anti-American views,” NBC/NJ’s Matthew E. Berger reports. “Well that's quite subjective,” she said of Bachmann’s comments. “I would think that anybody running and wanting to serve in Congress is quite pro-American because that's what the mission is, to better this country, so I would question the intent of that."

2. Usually when you dig a hole too deep you stop digging
Not so with Bachmann. KARE said on air she has rebuffed all their interview requests. Not the best thing to do in a case like this.

:hi: to Jason Lewis' producers, plug us anytime

Dems Preparing For Major Offensive Against Bachmann

The DCCC now plans to spend $1 million against Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) in the wake of her McCarthyite rant on Hardball, sensing that voters back home might end up turning against her extremism. A TV ad should be coming in the next few days. Meanwhile, the Cook Political Report has changed its rating on Bachmann, downgrading her by two whole positions from "Likely Republican" to "Tossup."

4. Most moderate Repbulicans I know are turned off by her
Edited on Mon Oct-20-08 07:59 PM by CatholicEdHead
They are not in the 6th but if that is the overall trend for central and southern Minnesota, she is toast. The Colin Powell chastisement meant a lot to them. If the moderate Republicans are lost, she cannot win with the core 20-30% who will not change their vote no matter what.
