Tim Droogsma, a former GOP congressional candidate and mouthpiece for Rudy Boschwitz who still likes to remind people of his role as a one-time Big Republican Operative, was caught in a prostitution sting in St. Paul. Droogsma was defeated by Democrat Tim Penny in 1992 for the 1st CD seat.:
http://www.startribune.com/462/story/1365005.htmlFunny thing is, Droogsma appeared to be offended at a recent Star-Tribune online story on outdoor sex:
http://www.startribune.com/161/story/1249165.htmlTim Droogsma, who in the 1980s was press secretary to then-U.S. Sen. Rudy Boschwitz, and also to former Gov. Arne Carlson, reacted similarly: "I don't think I'm too prudish (which, I realize, is what prudes always say), but do we really want this sentence: 'She hopped on my lap, facing forward. I pulled up her skirt in the back, slid her panties out of the way, and unzipped'?"
Then there's Droogsma's more current political connection. Noting his high-flying days as a Republican Operative, Droogsma came out in a big way for recently elected Republican Steve Drazkowski, who replacedd Steve Sviggum in the Minnesota House. I hope Drazkowski is proud of his supporter:

A special election is almost always highlighted by very low turnout. It’s hard enough to get 50 percent of the people to go vote in November; It’s even harder to get them to the polls in early August.
That having been said, I hope the people of district 28B will take the time to vote next Tuesday because you have a truly remarkable candidate running for office.
It’s been my privilege over the years to be involved with a number of wonderful people in government. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet two presidents, and work closely with dozens of senators, governors and state legislators.
Among all those people, my good friend Steve Sviggum stood out as a beacon of decency, courtesy and common sense. He was a true “people’s representative” who brought great qualities to his work.
I see those same qualities in House candidate Steve Drazkowski. Steve has a passion for people and for service, combined with a commitment to limiting the size and scope of government intrusion. His values are truly southern Minnesota values, and Steve will represent us very well in St. Paul.
The process of democracy, and the right to vote, are cherished American institutions. Please take a moment Aug. 7 to do your part and elect Steve Drazkowski to the Minnesota legislature.
Of course, Drazkowski is yet another family-values, sanctity-of-marriage Republican caught with his pants down with someone other than his wife. I wonder if Drazkowski's definition of marriage includes cavorting with hookers?
(From his campaign website):
Marriage: Marriage is a time-tested and sacred institution between one man and one woman. Steve firmly believes that Minnesotans should be given the opportunity to vote upon the constitutional definition of marriage for our state.
Meanwhile, hack Bob Collins at MPR carries the Republicans' water and gives his GOP blogger buddies a nudge on this one:
