Could Minnesota make Election Day a holiday on it's own?

Something to think about...

There has been some talk about a Election Day being a national holiday. We all know ideas like this can take yrs & yrs at the national level to take effect (if ever at all). Couldn't we here in Minnesota make it a state holiday where no one works that day?

Minnesota has been a trend setter in many areas, could this be another trend that Minnesota sets for the country?

it would probably be best for the Dems if the blue states made it a holiday and the red states didn't! Of course, once the republicans realized that this was happening, an election day holiday would suddenly become a GOP talking point.
