Poll: 60% of Michigan voters rate Snyder's performance poor or 'just fair'
from the freep:

By a nearly 2-1 margin, Michigan voters aren’t happy with the job Gov. Rick Snyder is doing, a new poll shows.

Some 60% of voters, in a poll released this morning by EPIC-MRA of Lansing, ranked Snyder’s job performance as poor or “just fair,” with 35% saying “poor.” The poll of 600 voters was conducted April 27-May 3 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Not surprisingly, 83% of Democrats gave Snyder a negative rating and 57% of Republicans gave him a positive rating. But 64% of independent voters, the group that helped carry Snyder to a big election victory last fall, also had a poor or “just fair” ranking for Snyder.

Overall, only 31% said Snyder’s budget proposals are excellent or “pretty good,” while seven in 10 voters rate his tax changes affecting individuals as “poor” or “only fair.” His proposal to begin taxing pensions has been the most controversial piece of his tax plan. The overall tax plan has passed the state House and is awaiting a vote in the Senate. ............(more)
