How do you talk to a human regarding MI unemployment benefits
I have been getting such a runaround trying to cash in on my unemployment insurance benefits. Maybe one of you can help? The numbers I know of seem to only exist to give us the brush-off:

Marvin - 866-638-3993
If I call this number to claim weeks of unemployment, the robot tells me to call back at the time specified in my booklet. I thought I was calling at my assigned time. I need to find out what my assigned time is.

"Unemployment office" - 866-638-3995
The people at the local Michigan Works office call this number "The Unemployment Office", whatever that means. All I can get out of this one is a recorded message to call Marvin.

Unemployment compensation hotline - 866-500-0017
This is supposed to be the number to call for help. If you try it, all circuits are busy, all the time. Don't believe it? Try it right now...

2. the people at MI Works
told my husband there is a code you can enter if you get the voice recording with the woman's voice that gets you to a live person. unfortunately, not appreciating the importance of that information, he neglected to write down either which number that applies to, or what the code is.

perhaps it is only an urban legend, but it can't hurt to ask someone at MI Works

other than that, go in person to your nearest UE office. get there early, because it gets crowded as the day wears on.

good luck! :hi:

3. You have to go to a MI Works office in person
You will never get anything done via the phone. Trust me. I have tried.
