Did anyone else grow up spending their summers at Hampton Beach, NH?
Three generations of memories now reduced to a pile of burnt debris after a fire took down the Surf Hotel, the Happy Arcade, and several gift shops including THE candy store.
Some of my memories.

earliest pic I could find of me at Hampton Beach

above most recent I could find

above taken at casino about three years ago

above taken in 96' at the casino, notice my glow? I had just lost my virginity that week

more pics

my nephew saying grace at Hampton......his grace...."you are all my best friends"

above: generations of RP family at the old cottage

2. The Labor Day Riots were popular at Hampton Beach
when I was going there. The Hell's Angels gang rolled in on their choppers, and the drunk Madras-dressed kids would turn some cars over, including a police cruiser I think, and run around the streets and beach raising hell. There was more of an amusement park atmosphere back in the day.

I remember the Surf and Arcade well. Too bad.

4. Ahhh, yes.
Before my time, but my mom, aunts, 3rd cousins, great aunts, uncles....etc talk about it every year.

5. Hi RP, yes I'll bet we passed each other on the boardwalk
My grandparents had a cottage at the top of hill of Boars Head Place. My uncle lives there now with his family year round.

I spent many many hours at that beach and in those arcades.
