I have already phoned in my pledge this morning as I do every year.

1. The Jimmy Fund helped save my butt

during the 1954 polio epidemic. I woke up with paralyzed legs one morning, and ended up in the Children;s Hospital in Boston in the Jimmy Fund clinic for all of us struck down with polio. I was lucky and got full use of my legs back after a few months of therapy. I was lucky compared to all the kids who I saw in iron lungs or with braces for life.

The Jimmy Fund is tops in my book.
