I was hoping to go but didn't make it there. I know Cindy Sheehan was speaking; I don't know who else. Any DUers go?

1. It was a really good day; you would have enjoyed it.
Here's a few pics: http://journals.democraticunderground.com/unhappycamper/48

I can also tell ya that it's a really different experience at the front of a parade.

2. Nice pictures. Thanks for the journal link.
I know it was a good day because I was out, but I would have loved to have been there. They did show it on the news last night, a fairly short report IIRC. :hi:

3. I was there with my wife and son
We heard Cindy Sheehan speak and marched - it was a good day for it.

Cindy publicly announced she was not going to pay her federal taxes and encouraged others to do the same. Her reasoning was of course to refuse to fund the war. I sympathize with the sentiment but unfortunately not paying taxes would affect not just the war (although I acknowledge a large majority of the money - to much - goes to defense) but good social and other programs as well. Also, it may very well get her and those that follow suit into a Lot of trouble. Though I suppose she's already demonstrated she will not shy away from that kind of trouble, she's got a lot of strength in her convictions.

4. heh
I'm already in a precarious situation financially. Somehow I think going to jail or losing everything for nat paying taxes might not be the best thing for my kids. Not sure that not paying taxes will help the anti-war movement anyway. Continueous marching in the streets is probably more effective.
