an eye opener

Icopied this from another forum but it speaks volumes! Here is a person that has realized that they have been used! They think it is a new circumstance but actually things like this have gone on for years.

"The simple answer: The Republican Party is the sum of ALL the people who belong to it, seek to forward the principles of it, and trust that it will remain true to those principles. To steal a phrase from another organization, its leaders are but trusted servants.

I have posted my thoughts on the Charlie Webster fiasco Facebook, but will do so here as well.

Just when you think Charlie Webster can't get any more arrogant, he goes on a near-statewide radio station and calls more than 1/3 of the active Republicans in the state "wingnuts."

This is the reason that so many people -- myself included -- have left the Maine GOP: the elitism in the party which makes the "regular joe" out to be stupid and ovine.

I am among many people up here in the region North of Bangor who has gone almost door to door to beg people to follow me into the GOP in order to try to restore some semblance of transparency, honesty, and good leadership to the federal government.

Charlie Webster has not even got the grace to step down when he has CLEARLY become a detriment to the party he claims to lead.

His bad decisions and blatant dishonesty, topped off by his obvious contempt for those he is paid HANDSOMELY to "lead" -- any one of those would have an intelligent person to step down.

Having returned to the party with a commitment to remain for at least two years, I am now outraged that the "leadership" has once again turned the state party into exactly the travesty so many former GOP members now unenrolled have long said it to be.

He can step down now or he can be voted out and further humiliated -- assuming he CAN be humiliated, given his arrogance. The former is acceptable; the latter will harm the state elections.

At LEAST 1/3 of those who participated in the caucuses have now been cheated as well as blatantly insulted by his arrogance and lack of honesty.

And I might add that many of that one-third are young people who registered -- many against their better judgement -- as Republicans for the first time this year and who are the future -- such as it is -- of the party Mr. Webster cares so little about that he abandons all principles which it purports to represent.

And I am not the only one who is now having my email inbox choked to immobility by those I've talked into being active in the party. What are we to tell those people now?"

what you tell the people is the truth! they will cut your throat or anyone else if it benifits them!
