Togus to get stimulus money

The Togus VA Medical Center just outside of Augusta is slated to get millions in one-time federal stimulus money, Congressman Mike Michaud, D-Maine, announced today.

The money goes to medical facilities and national cemeteries, according to information released by Michaud’s office. Michaud serves as chairman of the Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Health.

Also, one-time stimulus payments of $250 will be given to VA beneficiaries, according to Michaud’s office. It’s not necessary to apply for the funds. The VA will use existing payment records to determine who is eligible.
