Vilsack suggests Nussle not use leftover funds for gubernatorial run
By Charlotte Eby

DES MOINES — Gov. Tom Vilsack is calling on U.S. Rep. Jim Nussle to abandon the idea of funneling leftover campaign funds from his latest congressional race to help finance a run for governor of Iowa in 2006.

Nussle, a Republican from Manchester, has roughly $330,000 in unused campaign dollars from his successful re-election race against Bill Gluba, a Democrat from Davenport, this year.

Nussle’s political action committee, IowaPAC, had raised $110,000 by the end of November that also could be used for a gubernatorial race.

He has not officially announced that he will run for governor, but many political observers believe he would be a front-runner for the GOP nomination if he decided to seek the post. Vilsack, a Democrat, has said he will not seek a third term.

There is no doubt about it. I just hope it gets really ugly with whats his fundie face from Sioux city before the Nussle money machine steam rolls the guy. Nussle is a piece of trash who along with Grasshat has helped to run our country into the ground economically. "Ill do for Iowa what I have done for Washington?" YEE HAW!

2. I agree Nussle will use it..
and I hope it gets used in the primary as well. It's about time some of his actions get called on the carpet...by Republicans. Any time a Democrat says something it's sour grapes...but if a fellow GOPer says it MAYBE people in this state will listen!

3. Like Nussle's gonna listen to Vilsack?
Like I'm gonna believe anything that comes outta ****'s mouth?
Like Rushie's gonna tell the truth someday?
Gees, Guv, save your advice for someone who might listen and has a brain.
