Gaaah!!! Sasafraza fruka damnabin shitucking doofer nutz.!!!
I just listened to another one of Steve King's teleconference town hall meetings!

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
I need a nice stiff drink to help me unclench my jaw but I just took a muscle relaxant for a bad knee. So I'll just vent online a bit.

This time it was unions, Nancy Pelosi, tree-huggers, liberal judges and taking 'God out of the schools' fault for all our problems. :eyes:

The only bright spot was a car dealer who called in. He said he voted for King, but he seemed way to sensible to have done that. Among other things he schooled King on the $70/hour auto laborers crap. He knew a lot more about the Big 3 Auto proposals than King (not much of a feat).

And the last caller sort of schooled King in commodities markets vs supply and demand affecting oil prices. Although I think it went over the head of any of the RW troglodytes listening in. ANWR!! ANWR!! ANWR!!!!

An hour and a half on the phone and yet again I didn't get to talk to the asshat. :grr: I wanted to point out that at $169,000 salary, HE makes about $70 an hour PLUS benefits. Actually I had a great spiel planned about the failure of Republicans to be fiscally conservative. Oh well - maybe next time if I can stomach it.

2. Yeah, that idea came up at a Thanksgiving dinner.
Went up to the red NW corner of IA for T-day. We were lamenting King's re-election and came to the conclusion that the only way he goes away is with the loss of a seat in the House.

If we have to lose a seat, I'd gladly give his away.

3. I figure each seat will be @750,000
The first second and third are probably all near that population now. I know keeping close to current shape isn't part of re-aportionment, but it is a starting spot.
District 1 - Davenport/Bettendorf and Waterloo/ CF have been growing. I think Dubuque is at least holding its own. So it is probably near 750,000. Maybe if some of those NE counties that are now oddly in the 4th were added to fill it out.
District 2 - The Iowa City CR corridor is growing like a weed. Still some small growth along the river. Add in a few of those 5th district counties along the bottom 2 tiers of counties and 750,000 could be achieved.
District 3 - Take Story county from 4 and give it to 3. That should about do it.
What would be left would be mostly west of DM. Let Latham and King fight it out.

4. Yeah, unless we do a little Texas style gerrymandering...
I'm afraid we're stuck with a red district. Well, unless the good citizens of IA suddenly get smart and elect some good Democrats.

I want my area to get another Berkley Bedell. :sigh:

2 DUIs in 2 years and you get re-elected county treasurer and now our new state senator from the 48th district.

Republican Kimberly Reynolds of Osceola said in an interview that she had been arrested twice for drunken driving, most recently in 2000 in Warren County.

When a trooper stopped her van, Reynolds told him she had had a glass of wine. Her blood-alcohol content was 0.228, records state.

Authorities later found a three-quarters empty bottle of Black Velvet in her back seat, court documents say.

Reynolds was charged with second-offense drunken driving, but the charge was reduced to first-offense drunken driving, court records show. She was fined $1,500 and sentenced to two days in jail.

I cleared it with God and the kids so get the nomination papers and run.

If you have R after your name that is all you need over here.

Glaring exception Sen. Harkin won Montgomery County.

5. I don't know what the use of arguing with that idiot would be...
King is a class one idiot and ahole. I remember the first rule of arguing with an idiot. Don't. He'll just drag a person down to his level and beat him with experience.
