Working to Remove Patricia Miller from Office
If you are not attending the statewide antiwar march in Terre Haute on October 29, then you should condider supporting GLBT rights and Rock Indiana:

Rock Indiana
an Ad-Hoc Grassroots Organization
Irvington Halloween Festival
"Indiana's Witch Hunt"
October 29th 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Washington St. between Ritter and Arlington

Happy Autumn Everyone.

No doubt many of you have heard about Senator Patricia Miller's latest proposed bill on "authorized reproduction" aimed primarily at Hoosier gays and lesbians. Though public outcry against her proposal led Miller to retract it (for the timebeing) Miller still represents an extremist seat in the Indiana Senate by, among other things, voting yes on SJR7. It just so happens that Miller represents my district in Irvington/Indianapolis east side and Miller is a co-sponsor of the Irvington Halloween Festival - an annual event that draws a large crowd of her constituents. The festival is the perfect opportunity for Rock Indiana to flyer with information about Miller's voting record and her extremist viewpoints. (Miller will also have a booth at the festival.)

Fallout in Miller's District

In discussing our plan with the Irvington Community Council, the Council stated that our forthcoming endeavor at their Festival has led them to the decision to make this the final year for political sponsorship. In addition, the Council has tentatively offered a venue for a debate/discussion between Rock Indiana and Patricia Miller. We have agreed to a debate/discussion regarding Miller's work to oppress Indiana's GLBT citizens.

Irvington Halloween Festival

Rock Indiana would like to invite everyone to the Irvington Halloween Festival for a chance to stop by Miller's booth and discuss Indiana's Witch Hunt with her. We will provide festival goers with information/talking points. We will also provide information on Larry Buell (R-Indianapolis), the Irvington/east side's House Representative who also voted yes on SJR7 and whose voting record indicates that he sides with special interest Advance America/Eric Miller 100% of the time.

Costumes are very appropriate for this event if you would like to wear one. For more information on the Irvington Halloween Festival, go to http://www.irvingtoncouncil.com/halloween/home.htm

Protesting in Irvington

Fellow residents of Irvington know that the Festival brings out the crowds. This is the perfect time to display a sign in your yard that tells everyone that we want Patricia Miller and Larry Buell out of office. Place them in your front yards or on public poles in your area. (Rock Indiana may be able to provide signs. Stay tuned.)

Helping

If you would like to help flyer the festival, please send an e-mail to me at [email protected] We will wear witch hats, pass out stickers in addition to flyers and we will wear our theme on our shirts. Everyone will be briefed on talking points prior to the festival. As it stands now we are not in dire need of additional people, but certainly the more the merrier.

Sincerely,
Pepper Partin
Rock Indiana
