Poll question: Who's your pick for the next Mayor of Chicago?
Just for the hell of it. Let's see if more than a few people vote. I'm including the names I've seen mentioned. Add one if your favorite isn't listed.

2. I saw his name in one of the articles.
I'm not in Chicago anymore and he's one of the few Aldermen I can name.

But no one is going to be another Daley.

5. In this case, I meant another Richie
And Rahm helped inflict Richie on Chicago, so that pretty much tells where he'd take things as mayor.

6. Chicagoans have been on a reformist streak lately.
Being Obama's COS helps but people might see him as the machine candidate. That doesn't help right now.

7. Good. Chicago doesn't need Rahm and Rahm DOES need to be humbled.

11. guttierez is. he was in the city counsel, and worked the camaign.
iirc, he was elected after the court case to redraw the map.
he would be great, he would have a wide draw, he is very well known, he really could do it. that would be a great matchup- chewy vs rahmzilla.

8. cheryl jackson is owed, although i think he new job is payment
but she was a fine stalking horse who got the senate nod for alexi. maybe there is some payback coming her way, or maybe she would do that favor a second time.

david hoffman is someone whose name comes up often, and who would at least be honest. reformers, imho, often are not effective governors, tho.
john fritchy is also a great guy.

9. Tom Dart has championed many humanitarian causes!
Dart busted dog fighting rings, declined to enforce home foreclosures, nailed child abusers, and purged the Cook County Sheriff's office of bad officers.
