3. What's it like being a potter? It seems very intriguing but someone once told
me its very stressful trying to work the wet clay on that wheel and then putting it in the kiln in that there are many opportunities for slip ups.

4. i'm not a potter. but
most of us are more fine artists, with some really amazing sculpture goin' on. none of us really make a living at it. we either have day jobs, or have married well, or inherited.
it does involve a lot of finger crossing. in my work, i use that. it keeps it interesting. right now i am doing a combination of fired porcelain and cast paper. (pics soon)

i do know people who live on it, tho. one of our guests has made a living in pottery for many years. we have had members that made a job of it. it takes tremendous dedication to do that, not just making, but selling. you really have to do the fairs, travel all over. it is just plain heavy work. and it is hard to stand out, which is what you need to do.
plus there are lots of ways to kill yourself in this biz.
