Good for the state party. Many state websites in red states don't announce his visits. This one does.

"Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean will attend a picnic at noon Friday at the Julia Davis Park bandshell.
He is traveling around the country working to revitalize the Democratic Party in every state.
State party chairman Richard Stallings said local Democrats were "thrilled" to have Dean back — he campaigned here during his run for president last year."

1. I'm taking time off work for this!
this is tantamount to holding a Bar Mitzvah in '30s Munich. Gutsy. Tomorrow I'm even going to find a republican to borrow the $25 suggested donation from.
Go Spuds!:bounce:

2. Idaho is not quite yet Nazi Germany.
The beer is nowhere near as good, for one thing.

And although as the minority party we may be currently outnumbered, Democrats have a proud tradition to uphold here. I never met former Senator Frank Church, but consider him one of the greatest Idahoans. His widow Bethine has remained active in Idaho politics.

I met former Democratic Governor Cecil Andrus twice on the campus of Boise State University, where he had (has still?) an office. Would vote him in as lifelong Governor, if such an office existed, as would numerous other Idahoans.

Met our current Rep. Gov. Kempthorne prior to the 2004 election. 'Nuff said.

So is Governor Dean going to be left listening to the quiet whispers of traffic from Capitol Blvd behind the JD Park bandshell this Friday, or are a few people who would find a good loud Dean scream (or speech) invigorating for this state going to show up??

Anybody?
