As the intruder attempted to flee, he collapsed and died just outside the front door of the home.

1. Although I hate that someone died...
...this appears to be further proof that when We, the People exercise our Second Amendment rights, the Republic won't dissolve into anarchy and chaos.

2. Oh, oh here we go, the wild, wild west has now begun... I can't say that I...
blame the occupant for shooting this person, but things really seem to be spiraling out of control with respect to B & E persons...

4. OK so...

...armed intruder breaks into a house with a gun-owning resident inside.

There are only three possible outcomes

1) robber takes the stuff in the house and does not shoot owner (somehow deciding just to direct his attention to the TV rather than the armed occupant)

2) robber takes stuff and DOES shoot owner - resulting in dead person who at least is not GUARANTEED to be a violent felon (robbery while armed is a violent crime by its nature)

3) robber gets shot and owner keeps stuff and life. Dead/injured person is guaranteed to be a violent felon whose criminal activities caused his fate.

Dunno about you but 1 is pretty much trusting to luck and leaves us only with a more experienced violent felon, and no stuff. @ I think we can agree is bad all round. 3 then is looking like the best of a bad bunch.

7. Right you are...
A sad situation, yes, but not one of the homeowners making. I don't know why so many liberals would have us be unarmed in the face of crime and/or when surrounded by NRA cons.

I luvs me some gun totin' liberals...

3. Well...I'd hardly compare this to the Texas clown who shot the fleeing unarmed guys in the back
The cops were hardly near. They intruder was armed. Pretty simple case of defending your home.

5. Something I can't figure out.
If this homeowner was concerned enough about his security to own a gun, why the hell doesn't he lock his doors?

6. An armed burglar is killed...
Where is the news?

I'm sorry, but if someone breaks into my home and is armed all options are on the table. I don't feel sorry for the guy shot, I feel sorry for the guy who had to shoot him and now gets to live with the memory of killing someone for the rest of his life.
