I tried the link, but on my dial-up, this is a 22MB pdf file so I have to pass.
BTW Fla. Republican Rep. Tom Feeney is currently paying for some cheap-shot attacks against his opponent, Clint Curtis. A dumb site, crazyclintcurtis.com.
Nothing really substantial there. I am somehow on Feeney's mailing list, likely because I have an address in Oviedo, FL, his hometown and district. He sent me the flyer that referenced the above website. I do not support Republicans here in the state of Florida.
He's launched these non-sensical "tin foil" attacks against him, including a reference to his previous ownership of an AK-47 rifle, strange as it were coming from the pro-NRA camp and extremist rightwing gun lobby with which Feeney is likely associated or at least supporting himself (i.e., "a strong national defense"). OTOH if Feeney is deadset against ownership of single-shot assault rifles like the AK, SKS, M14, ect., he doesn't advertise this on his official sites.
Personally, I don't have a problem with rifles and shotguns, it's the handguns which I think need more regulation.
Back to the point, anonymous persons are quoted and nothing can be independently verified.
This isn't the style of Clint Curtis, who attempts to give us sources and independent verification of his allegations as much as legally and pubically possible.
Feeney uses the orlandoweekly.com as a source, a quasi-sleeze tabloid rag, its alternative lifestyle advertising speaks for itself. Although they do occassionally have a good article or two. I don't hate the gay lifestyle but I don't think Feeney is for gay-marriage himself. So what's the point of using orlandoweekly as a source?
The 2000 Palm Beach County 'punchcard' issue is not really a big deal to me. The voter scams took place is S. Fla. in that year with punchcards, but if the intent is there, it doesn't matter how you want to use the system. It only encouraged the Repugs later on, and perhaps someone envisioned the idea that they could make it more difficult to detect fraud if it was ported into a purely software format. At least that is the way I see it. You can write software in any programming language and port it to any platform you want, if you are a good programmer like Clint. That's not the issue.
