Bill Nelson Meddles Once Again, in "choosing" Florida's Next Chair!
If Thurman steps down. Sen. Nelson just doesn't get it does he?

Bill Nelson's chief of staff, Pete Mitchell, has been working the phones to drum up support for Miami-Dade Chairman Richard Lydecker. Others in the mix include Palm Beach Democratic chairman Mark Siegel, state House minority leader Franklin Sands, Pasco Democratic chairman Alison Morano, Hillsborough state committeeman Alan Clendenin, and Hamilton County chairman Rhett Bullard.

There's some school of thought that in addition to fundraising ability, the party badly needs someone able to communicate well as the face of Democrats in Florida. Among those who fit that category (but would have to get themselves elected state committeeman or county chair)? Loranne Ausley, Dave Aronberg (He tells us he's not interested), Tallahassee commissioner Andrew Gillum, or former Miami-Dade Chairman and congressional candidate Joe Garcia.

nelson thought thurman possessed those qualities, so he obviously has no clue.

1. I've been saying he's the "defacto" chair for years!
He was so bad dems wanted to vote him out,,,,but he was able to hide behind opponent Katherine Harris. Gads...I actually stood there...and was hardpressed to make a decision. Harris stole our vote and our president in 2000, and Nelson helped us lose everything since!

It's the truth, and it hurts.

2. You are terribly mistaken.
As for Pete Mitchell, he is doing his job. That's it. It's not like the failed election was entirely Thurman's fault. Look at the opposition! Their party is based on the premises of anger and fear.

As for Bill Nelson, he is doing a damn good job. He is a moderate democrat, exactly what the state of florida needs because, if you haven't noticed our state IS moderate. His staff thoroughly researches everything before they reach decisions. Plus, with their connections, they may have the whole story and you may not. Obviously, they have learned from Thurman and her strengths/weaknesses will play a part in the selection of the next chair.

I, as many other constituents do, highly regard the opinion of Sen. Bill Nelson and his chief of staff. You should probably take a closer look into the situation.
