Girl Handing Out Cough Drops Accused Of Selling Drugs At School
Source: NEWS4JAX.com

A Clay County father said he wants answers after his daughter and two other kids at her elementary school were accused of selling drugs and facing possible punishment all over some Vitamin C drops.

Nine-year-old Khalin Rivenbark's father said hs was accused of selling drugs after giving out cough drops to fellow students at school.
The 9-year-old girl told Channel 4 that she thinks of things like cigarettes as drugs, and she was confused when her teacher told her Halls are also considered a drug.

Fourth-grade student Khalin Rivenbark said her teacher accused of her selling drugs in school.

1. Another example of the idiocy of zero tolerance.
a.k.a. "enact rules so we don't have to bother our beautiful minds"

I saw the idiocy of these policies firsthand when a boy in my son's senior class drove his mother's car to school. There was a surprise inspection of all the cars in the lot that day and they found a toy capgun in his car that his mother had bought as a gift for someone. That poor boy was suspended for having a weapon. It went on his permanent record and probably affected his ability to get into college.

Our schools are in big trouble and it has nothing to do with the kids. Politicians have replaced logic and thinking with self-serving authoritarian control mechanisms.

3. Right on... our leaders are sickos!
My friend in Pensacola Florida and her husband went to their
son's school to defend him having a pocket knife in his
pocket, stating that he was a Boy Scout and this was a tool he
was accustomed to using when needed. But they suspended the
kid for it, and said he too was carrying a weapon. He had to
go to a private school for a year to continue his education.

Really sucks. I wouldn't bother being a parent in this
political climate if I were young.

Another woman who works for AT&T told me in a service call
that her school threatened to take away her child if she
didn't allow that child to drink milk. The mother didn't
trust the milk at school and doesn't really want to give her
child milk, but now compromises by sending the child in with
her selection of milk in his lunch. Dictators?

2. I heard this on the radio
And I love how the authoritarianism in this country is getting so bad that you don't even know if you are breaking the law anymore because it's now become their call entirely.

I was reminded of the 12yo girl's false arrest for prostitution on the greatest page. They got the wrong house and arrested her without identifying themselves as cops, but she's the one being charged with resisting arrest.

Anyone else feel "safer" with these people in charge?

5. This has nothing to do with drugs or guns but another example of school intolerance,
we live within walking distance of our school. The high school, jr. high, and elementary all in the same large building. Both my kids have gone there their whole academic lives. One day my son decided to give his little sister a ride home so she wouldn't have to walk home in the pouring rain (don't ask why a teenage boy drove to school just 3 blocks away, if you have a teenager you know and this was back in the mid 90's). The principle called and literally reamed everyone a new ass because a teacher saw what happened. Mind you everyone knows they are bother and sister because she has the same teachers he had. When I asked if maybe instead of demonizing them, shouldn't they be giving kudos the the teenage boy for even thinking of his little sister! They didn't know how to respond and the whole thing was dropped.

7. Trust me - it has nothing to do with geography
it happens in the bluest of blue states. As the father of two school age kids, I have plenty of stories about the idiots (moral cowards might be more accurate) that run America's schools.

9. Honor student arrest for having butter knife on floor of car
The girl had been helping her mother move kitchen items. A butter knife fell on the floor of her car... undetected.

During a parking lot sweep by SWAT officers using dogs... the 'knife' was viewed on the floor in the back seat.

The girl was arrested, suspended and she spent 8 HOURS IN JAIL.

This phoney War On Drugs has gone too far. The cops have Waaaaay too much time on their hands.
