Former president to campaign for Lieberman
HARTFORD, Conn. -- One of the Democratic Party's biggest guns, former President Bill Clinton, is coming to Connecticut to campaign for Senator Joe Lieberman.

Clinton's visit, planned for July 24 in Waterbury, comes as a new Quinnpiac Poll shows Lieberman and his Democratic primary challenger, businessman Ned Lamont, in a statistical dead heat.

Lieberman's campaign has not yet revealed details of the planned visit.

The two politicians have known each other since Clinton worked on Lieberman's first campaign for state Senate in 1970.

2. You're No Bill Clinton, but....
soon you will have something in common. Ex-President stumps for future ex-Democrat and Ex-Senator.

I'll stick with the Democrat in this race, Ned Lamont.

After making some repairs, the Kiss float will greet Bill Clinton and show him what is the crux of our problem with Lieberman.

7. my Question for president Clinton
Quoting from here:

http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/local/BO23132/

...
"Clinton also said he thought it was wrong for Democrats to challenge one of their own."

------------------------

Dear President Clinton,

what then are the dems in connecticut, and by association around the country,
supposed to do when an incumbant democrat - supports the war and the reasons
for going to the war.

A). Vote for the incumbant democrat who does not represent us.

B). Vote for a republican instead.

C). Not vote.

As you can see sir, none of these choices are particularly appealing for most
people in connecticut. Perhaps, you should explain to the base why they should
support sen. Lieberman when he clearly is at odds with their values.

God bless you, and thank you for your leadership.

You make us proud to be democrats.

9. According to Bill Clinton's argument,
...if Joe Lieberman lives another forty years, then Democrats should seek to keep him in the US Senate for the next forty years.

8. Anyone know what time of day they're due to hit Waterbury?
We're hoping to avoid the mess -- for some reason I've never been able to fathom, traffic is often a mess in Waterbury... This will make things worse, I'm sure!

11. I think Waterbury's traffic situation has a lot to do with the mall.
I don't recall city traffic being nearly as bad before they put up that monstrosity.

10. Good to know!
I don't expect any prominent Dem to endorse Ned Lamont over LIEberman. So I don't hold it against Clinton and the others (notably Boxer). I just ask that they respect the primary process and will abide by the will of the Democratic Connecticut voters.

We choose the candidate, not them. I'm so giddy; I can't wait to pull the lever for Lamont. :woohoo:
