Denver Talk Radio on "Art' Haggart affair..
Edited on Fri Nov-03-06 11:37 AM by buczak
If I listen to talk radio in Denver it's usually to Air America (Jay, Al, Ed, i don't really like Randi a lot)

After the 'Art' Haggard affair broke yesterday I switch to 630 KHOW to listen to Caplis and Silverman yesterday afternoon. I was really disgusted with what Caplis was saying. Silverman was suppose to represent the 'left', but he was really very weak. Caplis was over reaching in representing the 'right' view and it annoyed the hell out of me.

Caplis said that Mike Jones was going to destroy a family with his accusations. That was a bigger problem than about political difference that he had with Haggard. For some reason this is different than Jon Benet, OJ, etc. I don't think Boyles or 9news would have taken Jones seriously if there was no evidence.

Caplis should know that public officials are accused of things all the time. If I was accused of something I didn't do, I have no problem of explaining it to my family. It would be difficult, but not some thing that would destroy my family. If it was true, that would be very difficult.

I believe Mike Jones accusation to have some truth to them. I heard him on Boyles this morning and he sounded sincere to me. The verdict is still out.

The sin that Art Haggart committed is not homosexuality. The sins that he may have committed are having an affair outside his marriage which is between his wife and him. But, lying to himself about who he is and being a hypocrite to cover that up is a sin that affects more than just himself.

Haggard having homosexual leanings and having the anti-gay views that he has is the problem.
It's akin to a surgeon denying that he was right handed and attempting to do delicate operation with his left hand. It might work some time, but it's eventually going to cause a problem for all of us.

I wanted to scream at the radio and i realized why I don't listen to talk radio that much any more.
But there is it.

Have anyone listened to the other radio stations in Denver about this?

1. Mike Jones Probably Telling Truth
First, about Dan Caplis.

There are two old sayings that describe Caplis perfectly ...

"A legend in his own mind."

"A self-made man who worships his creator."

Caplis is the most conceited, egotistical, self-centered man I have ever encountered.

Second, the problem for Haggard now is that church people on his behalf have already admitted "indiscretions" took place.

Furthermore, listening to the voice mails and Haggard interviews reminds me of another saying: “Who are you going to believe, him or your lying ears?" It is obviously Haggard the recordings.

Jones volunteered for the polygraph, he then went on the air and discussed the results forthrightly -- and agreed to take another test after he has gotten some rest.

It sure looks to me like Haggard is caught in flagrant hypocrisy. It is too bad that so many right-wing 'Christians' are so hatefully judgemental towards other human beings -- they always get tripped-up by their own double standards. The lesson they need to learn, but apparently cannot, is to love all people as Jesus taught. But their bigotry keeps getting in the way of their doing what Jesus would do ... that's what so sad about all of this.

2. It's moving too fast in the GD.
I am up in Teller, CO.....pikes peak area. I get the 850, 760, and 740 from the springs. It's been quite a morning for the local guys. Al Franken didn't even want to touch it, but he had Jay Marvin on the phone do the reporting. I missed the early shows, but the local TV station heads must be exploding. They only seem to find, "supporters of Art" to interview.

I almost want to drive down to KTTV to offer another side to the story......it's not like I know any more than the rubes that pay Haggard's way, but I never bought me any drugs to "Throw away".

peace
