Protest Bush Visit to NREL in Golden, Colorado
Rally for Truth: Bush Visits NREL

Bush visits the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, tomorrow, February 21, 2006.

The Big Liar is supposed to be at the facility around 9:30 am. Folks will gather about an hour earlier.

I've been told of two 'meet up' locations. One is at the nearby Marriot Hotel; the other is in the parking lot of the United Artist Theaters in the Denver West Village shopping center, just across the I-70 bridge from the entrance to NREL.

Map of NREL area.

2. My time at the protest.
At about 9:45 am, I left from being with the intrepid band of patriots that congregated at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory gates to call attention to Bush's lies about energy independence and the war.

There were probably about forty of us in all.

Bush and his entourage helicoptered in, so we saw few big shots motoring in and out of the NREL entrance. It was nice and sunny, but a chilling breeze kept us cold.

At our rally for truth, no sight was seen of any honorable Republicans who might be outraged at Bush's prevarications; nor was seen any Democrat candidate or officers wanting to make a public statement about this cynical Bush ploy of cutting the NREL budget while trying to have us believe HE thinks its mission is important. (Of course, Democrat, U.S. Sen. Salazar was inside NREL with Bush, giving him "bipartisan" support for this propaganda stunt.)

Myself, Green candidate for the 7th Congressional District, and Tom Kelly, Green candidate for the 1st Congressional district were in attendance.

Until Bush and Beauprez and Allard and the rest of the radical Republicans contolling Congress decide to legislate an increase in average automobile fuel economy, this latest rhetoric about being "addicted to oil" is just meaningless blather and more blather.
