Assembly Health Committee Hearing & Letter Writing Campaign:
SB 921, the Health Care for All Californians Act, will be heard in the Assembly Health Committee on June 22, 2004 .

The time has now come to kick-off our letter writing campaign in support of SB 921, the Health Care for All Californians Act. The members of the Assembly Health committee need to hear from you! The following members have not yet indicated their support. Rebecca Cohn (D-24: Saratoga, Campbell), Chair, Edward Chavez (D-57: La Puente, Industry), Dario Frommer (D-43: Los Angeles, Glendale), George Nakano (D-53: Torrance), Gloria Negrete McLeod (D-61: Chino, Montclair), Simon Salinas (D-28: Salinas, Hollister), Lois Wolk (D-8: Davis, Vacaville). These members need to hear from you, especially if you live or work in their district. In addition, please send a letter to the Chair of the committee, Assembylymember Rebecca Cohn. Lewin Report Update:
The Lewin report on SB 921 cannot be released prior to the Assembly Health Committee hearing, as we had hoped and planned. Although the draft final report gives SB 921 excellent numbers and most are better than the single payer HealthCare Options Project (2002) numbers, it unfortunately contains substantive problems including confusing and incomplete graphs, hard to understand language, missing analyses, lack of comparisons and other problems. We expect these errors to be corrected and a final report ready for distribution in the coming months.
