Two things... they are replacing CNN at the top of the hour because of the "perceived slant". I can only guess they have gotten many an email from the fanatics....
Anyhow I told him, I will NOT listen to CNN at the top of the hour, my radio is going off at that time, and going to streaming. I will not listen to CNN, in fact I did threaten to get an XM or just stream it... why? I will not listen to any of the MSM news reporting
Did also tell him that I find it ironic I have to go get my news from the wires (I can already see it, how can they get to the wires damn it?), or from foreign media, as CNN and the rest are slanted to the right.
I just loved the we do not want any with any perceived spin, hence why they did not try to force Fox on us... but my gawd, Cliff believes CNN is considered Liberal or left leaning? He is in for a surprise folks, he sounded like he was.
Anyhow I was nice to wish him a merry and happy year, in fact here is the last letter... I think you can chuckle over it.

sorry...but we want a full service news network for the NEWS, not one with any perceived slant or spin. Hope you still listen to us.
Slant or spin, that is exactly what you get from FOX and less obvious from CNN... but it is there quite heavily. MSNBC and the rest are also quite heavy into spin, and quite frankly I do not need any spin in my news reporting from ANYBODY.
I will listen to the stream for the news... or plain out read the AP, UPI and other wire sources, as I have been doing over the last few years. Oh and I will continue to read the BBC World Service on the web and go back to streaming the World Service for my real news, after all CNN, yes CNN, forgot to tell us that many a primaries were cancelled and I have to go to foreign news sources to get news that are important, since NONE of the so called liberal media is free or lacks any spin any longer. It is slanted to the right, and we both bloody know it.... but you want CNN, fine... I have a computer I can stream the top of the hour news from AAR in New York, and I can also stream the BBC world service. I would listen on the short wave, but reception sucks over here.
As I said, if I wanted to listen to any right wing slanted news service I could always turn on the TV that I think is in my living room. It has not gone on in literally months, and I quite frankly no longer find anything worth watching on it. (Good for DVDs though)
The death of the Fairness Doctrine and the process of a take over of the media and the destruction of fair reporting are now complete, and quite frankly I do not need any news from the Stenography Corps, and yes you will probably read this from many of us who would like a return to a free and independent media in the United States.
We may yet see that one day... after the Fairness Doctrine goes back on the books, until then... I used to read the NYT when growing up since there was no free press where I grew up. These days I read the wire and listen to the BBC world service, I find it ironic.... what is even more ironic is I also read the press from the country of origin, as they are now free. They do publish stories about events in the US, that our so called free press dares not touch... oh this is so familiar that it is sad.
I thank you for readying this, and wish you a happy new year. I will continue to listen to the main program, but turn it off for the news... as I do not consider CNN non slanted or non spin heavy. They are... and anybody who studies the media, and I have... knows this.
Sincerely,
