KGO-TV crew roughed up in East Oakland
(01-28) 19:13 PST OAKLAND -- A KGO-TV cameraman was robbed of his camera and a reporter was thrown to the ground by two men while reporting in an East Oakland neighborhood, police said Friday.

The men stole the camera and escaped. Channel 7 cameraman Stan Wong and reporter Tomas Roman did not suffer serious injuries, a station spokesman said.

Police spokeswoman Officer Holly Joshi said two men approached the journalists near their van around 7:10 p.m. Thursday on the 500 block of Capistrano Drive. Wong and Roman were in the Sobrante Park neighborhood to work on a story about the rescue of 33 abused pit bulls at a home. Police gave no description of the men.

1. The story of the dogs is awful. I'm glad they were rescued.
