Did anyone have or hear of voting problems yesterday?
Since our systems are in flux and since that lays us open to foolery, I was wondering how things went for California DUers yesterday. I walked my ballot into my precinct no problem.

What about Riverside? Or Los Angeles? Or, Santa Clara?

1. Other than the evil stares when I asked for the Democratic ballot, none at all.
Short lines, plenty of booths, no problem. Living in Rethugland does mean having to endure sneers whenever voting day rolls around, however.

3. No, I voted wearing my Gay Pride t-shirt.
The only thing more repugnant to our local Rethugs than the thought of a gay voting for a Democrat* is the thought of actually touching one. They'll actually shrink back if you get too close ;)

*(technically a non-practicing bi, but they don't know that)

5. My mother is a precinct volunteer. The biggest problem she saw yesterday
was with voters. A lot show up who haven't registered, or are registered absentee voters and say they feel more "patriotic" doing it in person but don't bring their ballot. When told they can't vote or that there are certain procedures that have to be followed many become belligerent -- whining, complaining, arguing -- and in the process create a back-up in the line behind them.

Then there are the many that circle their choices rather than filling in between the lines as instructed. How clearer could it be? It goes on -- they lose or misplace their precinct locations and just show up anywhere. People can't be bothered to follow the damn rules or be responsible. And then they'll make it the fault of the system rather than their own cluelessness.

6. The Ron Paul Clowns kept putting literature right outside my polling place
I went to vote at 4 PM and as I walked into my polling place, there was a bunch of Ron Paul literature right outside the door, which is in violation of electioneering laws. I told one of the election clerks about it, she was almost in tears from frustration because every time she went out to trash the leaflets, another clown would leave more.

7. That's the time to get the local PD involved.
If those clowns don't care about electioneering laws they can
damn well deal with the local authorities.

Repugs are NOT exempt from laws, even though many think they are.

I don't think they REALLY want the bad press for their candidate.

That should solve the problem!

;)

8. Machines in OC.
;(

When asked, one of the poll workers told me OC and one other county in CA
had them.

" These machines are OK" she reassured me.

I told her " No thanks, a machine can be hacked- PERIOD".

I was very angry to see this!!

Paper ballot for me- oh yeah, they only had " a limited supply of them".

WTH?!?

13. You need to call Ghostbusters!
Our cannabis clubs are being hounded, too.

Mofos have nothing better to do than harass cancer and aids patients.
