Mike Rogers' Vote Sold To Highest Bidder

Mike Rogers is selling his vote on CAFTA to political interests instead of saying what he really believes. The Daily Home reports:
Rogers will be one of the Republican no votes, he said Wednesday in Talladega.

"I met with the administration, the U.S. trade representative and the secretary of commerce on this issue last week," he said. "I gave them (Avondale Mills President and CEO) Steve Felker’s telephone number. If they could convince him to tell me he thought this was a good idea, then I said I might think about voting for the measure.

"But unless Avondale does tell me this is not going to hurt them and other textile manufacturers, I am an absolute ‘no.’"

Although I am totally opposed to the measure, it is a shame that a U.S. Rep, who is supposed to beholden to an entire district, would allow his vote to be changed by one corporation. As a Rogers’s constituent I wonder why the Secretary didn't get my phone number. I will be waiting on my call.

I know that, but that is not the point. The point is that my often sent letters do not calculate into Rogers' vote, just one CEO's opinion.
