Bush voter tries to get me to vote Bush
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 11:44 PM by kwolf68
I got a call tonight from one of my friends. Truth be known, I truly thought this guy was a candidate to move over to the Dems, but after listening to his blathering rant tonight and trying to persuade him of my convictions I am convinced he was never in play for us. Some of his quotes/comments (paraphrased) will showcase this.

Some of the most amazing comments he said:

-You think that Kerry a**hole did better than Bush?
-I don’t want my tax money to be going to some a bunch of free loaders.
-Russia and Germany didn’t go to war with us because they were in the Oil For Food Program
-You need to think long and hard for you children who can protect us
-Kerry is dangerous because he wants a “one on one” talk with North Korea.
-Kerry won’t get anyone to join the coalition
-(edit) -- Hussein was making a bomb

And my favorite…yes
-We need to save Babylon.

We need to save Babylon? Yep, he said it.

The GREAT news though is after 2 hours of bickering I had him so disjointed with Bush that I at least kept him from going to the polls. The last thing political he said was, “F*** it. I don’t care. Im not voting.”

In this case, a no-vote IS A VOTE for Kerry, because this guy is looped.

1. my favorite line to use
is "you're way too smart to be voting for Bush like the rest of them."

it will usually result with them admitting they don't really like bush.

3. Wow - "We need to save Babylon"?
So we will brazenly declare another "crusade" in the middle east just to save the chimpman's job?

6. I asked him this?

I said, "Are you telling me this is a religious war?"

His response? MUSLIMS want to kill us. I then said I went to Graduate School and saw many muslims (mostly women it seems), had classes with them, and they appeared very peaceful.

His response? They want to kill me.

Yep folks...His cell phone thankfully died, but for the last 30 minutes or so when he called back I just laughed at him. He was getting defensive that I was laughing at him.

4. Many People Agree With Your Friend
If they are not in the top 2 percent, they can find no reason to vote for Bush. They are trying to desperately to come up with a reason why they should. The poor babies. They got taken for a ride the first time and now they can't justify voting for him again.

7. Not top 2%

He does ok...Middle class guy.

He hates welfare, gay marriage and affirmative action.

We got into the AA debate and he was saying, "Blacks have all these jobs yada yada yada"....I said, "Maybe they deserve them."

He responded NO WAY. My response was then to say, You know I don't know if every single black person who has their job rightfully deserves it anymore than every single white person who has their job rightfully deserves it. In an ideal world racism would not exist, but thanks to stereotypes like yours it does.

Another thing I forgot...

This one is freaking amazing.

-When I mention the number of deaths in Iraq, he said that was nothing.
-He said he'd like to go kill some people in Iraq. I immediately challenged him to sign up for this "just" war. I pressed and pressed and he just chuckled it off.

He also said

-John Kerry bought his Silver Star for $100,000

LMAO

10. Maybe your friend...
should try to honor the daily caskets at Dover, or maybe he'll just laugh it off. I'd definitely challenge him since he thinks it's a laughing matter.

11. Step away from the cool-aid and walk intothe light my son. Good job
I always hate how they call my mother on SS a freeloader. She worked her whole life. They do not want to help anyone. I say F**k them.

12. Your mom's on Social Security? You've heard people
refer to her as a freeloader?? Yikes. I've heard of people calling welfare recipients and SSI recipients freeloaders but not SS payees.

In any case, I get your point. The "righteous" attitude is pervasive. I have a lady friend who is middle class. She and husband have worked hard and lived well for many years. They've invested a little for their retirement et al and own a modest but lovely dwelling at this point.

My friends hubby just survived throat cancer and was able to go back to work. All the while my friend has been suffering rapid increasing deginerative Osteo Arthritis w/Rhuematoid and Psoratic Arthritis. She has had two back surgeries, two knee replacements, her feet have been a problem since youth, her hands are gnarled up and swollen, her knees still swell and grind, she recently had a hysterectomy for tumors, and now her hip is rotting which means it will have to be replaced. She is on HEAVY meds and keeps going to keep from stiffening up. She's been working part time because she is afraid to stop working...............guess why? BECAUSE HER HOITY TOITY friends will think she is a FREELOADER.

This FUCKING inhumane attitude is soooooooooooo evil and pervasive that it instills fear into those people who acutally PAY INTO THE SYSTEM and NEED the g.damned help!! I'm helping her with Disability Insurance because she knows that I "understand"...but she doesn't want me to tell her other friends what we are doing.. Geeez This is INSANE.
