6. Good old WOOD
I grew up in GR, live in Warren, now. I am so old that I remember "Captian Woody", the host of the after school cartoon show. I have to laugh that the main anchor for their news is still Suzanne Geha. They still make jokes about her in Detroit after her short and unpopular stint at Channel 7.

I was in GR/Holland last weekend for my niece's birthday party. I drove around Kentwood and the east side and saw many Kerry signs and stickers, except in EGR. I went to Yesterdog Saturday night, and to Cherie Inn for Sunday breakfast, and saw Kerry signs in office windows and storefronts. That is so unlike the GR I knew as a kid and younger adult. I heard you even have a dem mayor these days?!

Holland is hopelessly Bush country. My sister is trying to sell her house, so she won't put a Kerry sign in her yard-I didn't see any Kerry signs in Holland, but it's a small, dutch-reformed community.
