As for polls
Edited on Tue Sep-28-04 12:36 PM by MelissaforKerry2004
Its funny..I haven't been on DU too long but I see things on here that just bother me...I think Kerry can be criticized but when he was surging in the polls there was little said just a few posts about the good news...BUT now that we have a completely BIASED poll (gallup) which we knew to be wrong LAST month as well...we have numerous posts about it...(I am adding one more)

I think we need to remain positive..and keep working...we KNOW what is really going on...let the media try to potray Bush a winner..let the Repukes who might of gone out to vote if it were precieved closer..stay home...I think they SHOULD be overconfident because they will lose big on November 2nd...we have come a long way...
Just a couple things I see

*I have never heard of voter registrationg being so high so SOON before an election..people are angry...
*the "undecideds" there are still a few and they would likely lean to the challenger-
*Bush has screweed up our country so badly when people GET in the voting booth and really think of hiring a guy who had a chance to do things and DIDN'T..will choose to fire him
*we have liberal radio now...thank GOD for AAR...thank GOD! They speak the truth...

and the list goes on...Democrats win when the turnout is high...and the turnout will be high..there are more of us..than them..we just have to work hard to let the doom and gloomers who might say "whats the point, bush will win" KNOW that he will not...not if they go and put a vote in for Kerry...

2. Gallup sucks. But, I think we can also injure ourselves by being too
overconfident. There are many disenfranchised voters here in Detroit after the caucus debacles. I am canvassing, and there are many undecideds who are truly undecided...My girlfriend went to phone bank last weekend in an office that supposed to be open 24 hours and guess what? Closed. That's not a good thing. We have got to keep the momentum up.

3. We also have the "pop culture" thing going on

Hopefully that will encourage the young people to register and vote in big numbers this time. Howard Stern, Michael Moore, The Daily Show, MTV Rock the Vote and all the touring musicians and comedians and so on.

On edit: My big worry is the media will fake that it's close, so they can try to steal it. We have to work to make it a huge win.
