--I was going to start a copycat thread but I haven't been around here long enough and I hear they frown on that... :)

5. I think he is independent. Would be just as hard on Kerry if he was as
lame and a liar like Bush is.

6. I don't care.
He's funny and he's good at entertaining. Given his attacks on Bush policies and right wing nonsense, though, I'd guess he's liberal.

11. He is a humorist with keen interest in REAL news. Does political
affiliation matter when the truth is told?

Many here applaud Pat Buchanan when he speaks honestly and dump on him when he doesn't.

Same with Stewart, except he's 85% more honest than most on air.

13. no listing here..but he has changed his name
His birth name is; Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz

Filed petition for legal name change to Jon Stewart on June 19, 2001. Cited several reasons for making the change. Pick which one you believe:
- To protect loved ones from embarrassment (they signed a petition)
- Too many syllables
- Too Hollywood
- Too mispronounceable
- Slight leftover family resentment

24. Yea, he does
I knew he had to have some schooling behind him. For someone who isn't trained in the world of politics he is more then able to keep up with the so called experienced talking heads.

14. I think he is ABB - and a DEM too
but he is owned by the right wing corporations so he has to kiss the right wing's ass all the time to get away with kicking Bushes.

I think he hates Bush.

23. He eschews terms like liberal and conservative
as he has said in the past, if you can get 31 flavors of ice cream, why do politics only come in two?

25. Colbert said that he was a Democrat when filling in for Jon
when Jon's wife had their baby earlier this summer. Clearly the Daily Show does not have a problem with their stars announce their party affiliation and Jon Stewart chooses not to. My guess is that Jon Stewart is an independent who tends to vote Democrat or not vote at all. After all, he does have a busy schedule and lives in New York.

26. Stewart said the show was "nothing, if not a mouth piece for the right"
But, it's possible he was joking. I think the show is supposed to be satirical, right? :silly:

OK, it was a freaking joke. COME ON PEOPLE. Stewart ribs everybody, but he clearly takes an extra measure of pleasure in filleting the neocons in the House of Bush.
