1. If I weren't already

volunteering for the Kerry campaign, I'd be working for ACT. They're very active (no pun intended) here in the Madison area, and I think they do a great job!

2. I volunteered with them early in this election season.

They were great. But I only had contact with other volunteer organizers, so I don't know much about their paid staff.

I discontinued my association with them because they are a registered 527 group, which means they can't coordinate with campaigns. Since my group is all volunteer and doesn't receive any type of financial backing, it made sense to drop the affiliation. Now I can at least talk to the campaign organizers and they don't freak out.

Any dem leaning group can post events on their website. Just start an ACTivist account. I have very good luck with the volunteers I recruit that way.
