Mother of soldier killed in Iraq disrupts first lady Laura Bush's rally

HAMILTON, N.J. (AP) - A woman wearing a T-shirt with the words "President Bush You Killed My Son" and a picture of a soldier killed in Iraq was detained Thursday after she interrupted a campaign speech by first lady Laura Bush.

Police escorted Sue Niederer of Hopewell, N.J., from a rally at a firehall after she demanded to know why her son, 1st Lieut. Seth Dvorin, 24, was killed in Iraq. Dvorin died in February while trying to disarm a bomb.

As shouts of "four more years" subsided, Niederer, standing in the middle of a crowd of some 700, continued to shout about the killing of her son. Secret service and local police escorted her out of the event, handcuffed her and placed her in the back of a police van.

Laura Bush continued speaking, touting her husband's record on the economy, health care and the war on terror to those attending the rally in this suburban community of 90,000 people near Trenton.

6. Laura is a mystery.
Kitty intimates that her nickname was Roundheels and could well have been Dimebag but still, if she was once a Democrat, it's too bad what she's become.

Of course, she could still pull the lever for John Kerry. Secret ballot and all that.

7. I know people that went to SMU with her.
They say she was very interested in status, in particular, showing off her status.

2. So now we live in a country where the ruling elite
will have a grieving mother led away in handcuffs. I hope the police and SS agents really felt proud of themselves after that good day's work.

4. Please refer to those agents as Secret Service
SS is just too suggestive for the fainthearted.

8. My hairdresser's husband was at that rally.
She told me this as I was sitting in her chair getting my haircut. I was wearing my Kerry/Edwards button.

Just wondering if her husband tells her about the disturbance if she wonders it was me

Nah, she knows I don't have a son in Iraq

9. her life was disrupted when her son was killed
she wasn't just any protestor she was the mother of someone who died in a war bush started. if laura bush had a heart she would have taken the time to speak to her, and at the very least she certainly would not have allowed her to be arrested. but laura bush is a cold uncaring bitch .

11. Was this the same lady who marched in the
protest on the Sunday before the repugnant convention? Remember the lady who carried that same sign and was interviewed by C-Span? Heart-breaking. Also, on the day of the march, a Hispanic man, whose son was also killed in Iraq was interviewed---I think he was the same man who interruped the convention with a protest, and was dragged out.

12. It needs to be said: Laura Bush is the C word.
And I hope she dies of a painful stomach cancer, along with her drunken husband and slutty daughters.

What she allowed to happened today was the most disgusting things I've seen in a long time and I was outraged. The cops walked up and ARRESTED a Gold Star Mother who was standing there talking peacefully OUTSIDE the arena.
