1. Dole was actually quite an effective Senate Republican leader.
During George H. W. Bush's presidency, the House frequently overrode his vetoes, but Dole always rounded up the votes to make them stick. In 1995-96, Dole secured Senate passage of the doable Contract with America items. And Dole, who led an infantry company in Italy, and came home in a full-body cast with his right shoulder and arm maimed for life, doesn't need a lecture from a backbench wackadoo on what it means to stand up for Americans' freedom.

26. Ya know, it's pretty funny
The Republicans who lose presidential elections (Dole and McCain), are nowhere's near as bad as the ones who win them (Nixon, both Bush I and II, and many more). :)

2. Yeah Dole whatever you may think of him otherwise sacrificed his arm
fighting for this country. That is highly offensive that that goofy idiot said that.

20. Agreed.
It infuriates me to no end to see the patriotism of people who gave everything for this country called into question by these insane right wingers who have sacrificed nothing -- other than maybe a lucrative lobbying position on K Street.

21. and it only makes it worse
That they are the ones who always wrap themselves in the flag and wax philosophic about the troops, who they don't really care about and do little for.

6. She does seem to crave the limelight, Bachmann does. Turn on the
microphones! Fire up the lights! Sell tickets!

Now you voters up there in that Minnesota district. We out-of-staters are counting on you to know what to do when you step into that voting booth next time.

11. Actually, her victory was was due to an "unknown" Independence Party candidate
who spent $200.00 on his Congressional run, and won 10% of the vote. The Independence Party endorsed her DFL challenger, El Tinklenberg, who did have a good shot against her, but due to by laws, Bob Anderson, was able to enter the race as the Independence Party candidate causing El to lose the race by a narrow margin.

9. Non-pro
= anti. Therefor a non-pro freedom agenda must mean an anti-freedom agenda.
Dole and Frist's anti-freedom agenda means that they want to subjugate the American people.
Wow. Good luck with that Ms. Bachmann.

13. "Non-pro-freedom agenda" This is what cowards say
Edited on Thu Oct-22-09 09:18 AM by Lyric
when they're too scared of getting slapped down by the party leadership for "crossing the line" of decorum to just say "Anti-Freedom."

I suppose she thought she was being clever. *snicker* What an idiot.

care for the many, many foster children she has taken into her family.

Don't get me wrong. I think foster parenting is a wonderful thing. Not knocking her for that.

But state and federal programs pay for the medical care of foster kids, allowing many families to be able to handle the financial burden.

So, why doesn't someone ask her why she participates in this "socialist" program. I'd love to hear her answer.
