They can and should poke fun at Obama. He's President and that's what they do and it's usually funny, but it's not that funny when there is no semblence of truth to what they're saying. It's just stupid.

Obama never said we'd be out of Iraq in 2009. Never said that. And he's already started pulling troops out and announced an end date. He also never said he would "improve Afganistan." He said he'd send more troops into Afganistan to finish the job. Of course, if he decides to send more troops than he already has, you'll be pissed. He also never said he's repeal DADT in the first year. As far as closing Gitmo, he's working on it.

If he does exactly what he said he'd do, you're pissed (Afganistan). If he announces the closing of Gitmo and then takes more than 60 days to do it, you're pissed.

:P

I hear Heroes has an opening for predicting Sui's pissability.

Seriously, humor thrives on hyperbole - as it should. The "spot on" part for me is not how much spin and nuance they can account for, but the gist of not really getting a whole lot done.

The FACTS are, he could easily have done something to mitigate DADT, but he hasn't. He is and will always be a schmuck to me, as result of that lame act of non-leadership.

The facts are he spent more time and effort on trying to get the Olympics in Chicago than he has on the rights of U.S. citizens who happen to be gay. Schmuckity schmuck.

More facts: we're pulling out of northern Afghanistan because our troops up there are sitting targets? Sounds like a loss to me. We're surprised about the tactics at use in Afghanistan, when they are doing EXACTLY the same thing they did to the U.S.S.R.; hide for a while, do some rebel "insurgent" crap, lull the enemy into thinking they're making progress, then do a bunch of demoralizing strikes until they lose heart and run.

Oh didn't see that coming!

I'm not pissed sir, I'm disappointed that Obama is not much smarter than Bush, just slightly more gifted in the gab. I have a feeling with Obama that the road to hell is going to have paving made of preferred stock with the banks and insurance companies, and a lot of good intentions about "the rest" of the issues.

And I think I am not alone in that assessment, or there would not have been a skit to that effect. It didn't happen in a vacuum, and it sounds like the only pissed people are his die hard fan club.

The rethugs are at their lowest point in decades. They should be dealt with accordingly not enabled.

I'll say it again. I don't give a shit if they make fun of Obama. Just get somebody who can do a decent job.

18. The way I envision legislative sessions would be. Every time a republican suggests something.
The majority would go: "Huh, did somebody say something?" and then move on. I guess one can dream.

I agree that the opening was kind of weak on character impersonation. I was surprised because that actor has done a better Obama in the past.

impression that anybody could have walked on set from the street. Put on a suit and go "Hi I'm president Obama". Watching his previous skits you could tell he was trying to do an impersonation. Not a good one in my opinion. But in this one it's like he just phoned it in.

11. Armisen is the poorest excuse for Obama I have ever seen.
My husband does a WAY better impression.
Really, the message gets lost when the person giving it is NOT funny, at all.
Amy Poehler nailed Hillary, which made her impressions and sketches hilarious and the message was sent (though I like Hillary). Fred Arminsen is not so good.

Aplhacat would be awesome.

17. Old man yells at cloud/kid speaks out of turn comes to mind
I hear Heroes has an opening for predicting Sui's pissability.

Seriously, humor thrives on hyperbole - as it should. The "spot on" part for me is not how much spin and nuance they can account for, but the gist of not really getting a whole lot done.

"The FACTS are, he could easily have done something to mitigate DADT, but he hasn't. He is and will always be a schmuck to me, as result of that lame act of non-leadership."

DADT is LAW passed by Congress and can only be unwound by Congress. Your desire for him to do a bandaid end around doesn't equate to being the proper way to handle it.

"The facts are he spent more time and effort on trying to get the Olympics in Chicago than he has on the rights of U.S. citizens who happen to be gay. Schmuckity schmuck."

That statement misses the entire concept of a fact. It is an opinion poorly formed on little to zero data and emotional hyperbole. The man was gone for the Olympic proposal from after supper to the next afternoon.

"More facts: we're pulling out of northern Afghanistan because our troops up there are sitting targets? Sounds like a loss to me. We're surprised about the tactics at use in Afghanistan, when they are doing EXACTLY the same thing they did to the U.S.S.R.; hide for a while, do some rebel "insurgent" crap, lull the enemy into thinking they're making progress, then do a bunch of demoralizing strikes until they lose heart and run.

Oh didn't see that coming!"

Again, you are conflating your assessment with facts. Your so called "facts" are hypothesis and opinion.

"I'm not pissed sir, I'm disappointed that Obama is not much smarter than Bush, just slightly more gifted in the gab. I have a feeling with Obama that the road to hell is going to have paving made of preferred stock with the banks and insurance companies, and a lot of good intentions about "the rest" of the issues.

And I think I am not alone in that assessment, or there would not have been a skit to that effect. It didn't happen in a vacuum, and it sounds like the only pissed people are his die hard fan club."

See, you admit my point your damn self. You openly state your opinion as an assessment but throughout paint the assessments as FACT. It also points to a tendency to be hyper critical just by the FACT that Obama is only slightly more gifted as a communicator than Bush. You might be the only soul on Earth that would say the difference there is slight, even the crazed Confederates will cede that point.
