15. Drive through LA's skid row some day...
It reeks of piss for miles... and what gets dumped in storm drains goes right to the ocean, untreated.

2. Is the mascot a thong?
If it can't be Chicago, I'm glad it's Rio.

In some ways I think Rio might have deserved it even more than Chicago.

12. Just before I logged on..
I thought, "the Moon is in Pisces..I bet it's Rio by the Ocean".B-)

At least the Chicagoans tried to get the Olympics for their city and the jobs it would produce.

I don't know what meme, the manipulators and manufacturers at corporatemeida, is projecting but that's my take.

13. Rio Celebrates!!!!!

Rio loves you: People hold up a banner with an image of Christ the Redeemer as they gather on Copacabana beach in Rio to wait for the announcement by IOC members in Copenhagen of the host city for the 2016 Olympics

Rio fans on the famous Copacabana beach celebrate today as their city makes it through to the final round of voting - just minutes before being crowned the host city of the 2016 Olympiad

:D

14. Don't you know you're not supposed to be happy for them?
Haven't you been reading any of the headlines in the forums?

I'm happy for them too, just am disappointed in all the negativity on DU about Chicago not getting it.
