Why are Democrats always required to be the more magnanimous ones?
What I want to know is who wrote in the playbook and rule books that Democrats always have to be the more magnanimous of the two parties?

On one hand we have a party that declares it is the party of "family vaules" and then stands up and blares out "you lie" and our party's president graciously accepts his apology.

Then, not too long ago, this same gracious person habitually reaches out a hand to a senator who blatantly lies about a program wanting to kill "gramma," while still hoping for bipartisanship.

So my question is, who said Dems have to remain to be the gracious ones?

I guess it probably is smart to look at this as a chess game, but still, I don't know how many out there are filled to the top with these assholes who continue telling the American people they are one thing, when they show plenty of examples that they are not.

Can you imagine what would have happened if that had been during the Bush monarchy? The person would have been called a treasonous monster in league with Bin Laden himself.

4. It's not "required", But when done right,
it's very effective! And President Obama certainly knows how to do it right!

6. Kill them with kindness--I bet it stuck in Wilson's craw to be
forgiven by the President.

Imagine, that proud, white, Strom-Thurman aide being forgiven, on national television, by a black man.....

Bless his heart.

7. I think the reason is that we are normal and Republicans are "assholes"

"Assholes" here being a purely technical political science term.

9. Have you read Eric Alterman's "What Liberal Media?"
I suggest you pick it up if you have not.

What I am suggesting is that for some reason, in this age of instant video tape, for some reason, this party of doppelgangers gets a pass. Even though our party owns Washington, there are always ways to improve our lot and to me, we're not taking advantage of them by always playing the "turn the other cheek" game.

So many people here seem to be satisfied with Obama being "cool", "smooth" and so on, but you know what? There are a ton of people out there who are looking for someone to really get down deep and fight hard for them.

Yes, Obama handled the Wilson character good, but imagine if he had of paused a bit longer than did something to really bring attention to what Wilson said.

And yes, we all agree that the people advising Obama are extremely good, but also remember, last night had to happen because they took a back seat to congress on the health care issue instead of an upfront one.
