The news seems awful today. Isn't there anything positive that someone can post? I swear it looks like we have been hired by the RNC to demoralize the base.Someone please post something positive!

2. I know what you mean
I have eliminated all corporate news from my consumption, so I rely on DU even more. But somehow, I don't feel any more energized. Is it because the situation is really bad and we just don't want to see it, or because too many DUers are drinking the kool-aid? Nevertheless, I do appreciate those who consistently try to post positive or constructive messages. :)

5. Things are going very well

You might notice that there is a direct correlation between how much people are working on the campaign, and how well they think we are doing.

Those who are getting out and working for victory every day are mostly optimistic, while those who believe we will win by watching more TV than the other side are pessimistic.

haven't you heard of prozak? everything is a-ok. don't worry be happy. i got a good idea driving today. blue sky good air after the rain excellent colors of the fall, anyway my thought comes from the ancient ones in the i ching. anger and hatred consume your power. so let's all send out compassion to the war mongers in this nation. also as a really good side bar--feign insanity to allow your opponent show his ludicrous side. im thinking kerry is doing this now with corporate media and the bushies

10. The best thing you can do is log off and go for a walk.

Then, consider staying off DU for a day or two.

DU doesn't exist to cheer you up -- nor to cheer me up. It's a discussion board. When the discussions are getting you down, just take a break.

11. Again and I swear I have yet to see one Bush sign on a lawn
or a car in my part of Texas, I have seen Kerry stickers..people just tend to get a bit jumpy when their country seems to be heading down into a pergotory the likes of which just thinking about it is a bit terrifying, more so then the continued hubub of color coded scare tactics..

Anyone notice they are no longer? Interesting...

13. Thanks for the upbeat post. I just saw my first sign. These folks are no
suprise. They are also the most annoying neighbors we have. Loud Kids that are old enough to leave home. All my other neighbors are being quiet.

I empathize and have had similar sentiments recently.

But there is something in the air that is undefinable. It's just wafting around right now, barely brushing the ears of the seemingly slumbering populous.

In as much as I'm disgusted by our media, and even more disgusted by the "governance of fear" and distortion that we've been living under for the last nearly four years, I vacillate wildly between feeling defeated and feeling more hopeful.

Sometimes, I feel like, with so many idiots and highly visible Bush apologists, is this country worth saving. . .? Other times, I am mindful of the fact that a country such as ours had to take an inevitable fall in this still new millennium, wherein "super powers" may no longer be appropriate in order to create a more level playing field. I just never imagined our fall would be have to be so steep or disastrous.

Still other times, I believe fervantly that more Americans than not, can still differentiate between truth and spin, and I thoroughly believe that enough of us will rise up and re-establish our democracy that has been so blatantly stolen from us.

I know not the answer to any of this. I just know that my roots go so deeply into this country's heritage that I doubt that it can't be ruined entirely by this very small man's misleadership.

Let's hope it's so and chin up.

14. Wake up SARACAT !!!
"For America, the hope is there. The sun is rising. Our best days are still to come." John Kerry, DNC Acceptance Speech.

We are going to win in November. Trust Me. I'm not even a Democrat. I'm a former Bush supporter !

Remember our team is the one of unity. The one that believes in HOPE. Not fear like the Republicans.

The Bene Gesserit Littainy against Fear.
Pg 19 of Dune

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Stop listening to the facts, or the filter, listen to the president's words.

19. Unfortunately, that filter is working!
And we need to employ the use of our own "filter". We can have all the "facts" in the world . The other side never lets "facts" get in their way and they are better off and united as a result. We need votes, not facts. We need a filter too.Wonder where they got their's???
