Why do young people, who are pressured by the ever expanding corporate culture to get an expensive higher education without any guarantees of the gov protecting us from rampant labor outsourcing, have to assume so much for-profit based debt?

More of the 'you're on your own' mantra. Get an ed, get deep in debt, you're on your own.

1. No, no, no, privatized, so that it costs twice as much as it should and
only the richest kids can benefit from it.

Wait a minute. That's what we have!

4. To me a publically funded program is a social program. Public schools are publically funded.

7. I mean the higher ed that Mr Obama was referring to. Graduate and tech.
If young people's education is paramount to America's success then why should grads be so hamstrung with debt? And with the government providing tax incentives for US businesses to offshore labor of all types as well?

Seems like another ponzi scheme to gut the savings/earnings of same Americans who are all trained up and in debt.

5. I agree. We should have "free" education extending to trade schools, college, and beyond. 16 years
out of college and still we are paying off loans.

Just think what people could do with the money they hadn't spent on post-secondary school... A new car? Buy a house sooner than you can nowadays? We know it can be done because there are other nations already doing it. But of course, that would be socialism so no way are we allowed to do it too. :eyes:

6. Hey, our priorities in public funding right now are a) banks; and b) private insurers, in that order
You'll need to "bootstrap" up some money for school. Get out there and compete!
