Do you really want to help pass health care?
It takes more than calling or writing to your congressman and senators. It takes boots on the ground - now. Go to
http://www.barackobama.com/index.php
click the volunteer button and sign up to canvass your neighborhood or make phone calls. This is the tough part of passing
health care. Do you have the guts to do it? Organizing for America will lead you by the hand, give you walking maps or
phone numbers, give you a script, help you all the way.
Once again, do you have the guts to do it or do you just want to complain?

1. What's the plan we're supposed to be pushing?
I'm not going to promote anything that doesn't include a public option without a trigger.

2. Right now the plan is to stop scaring the people
Sign up, read. If you want health care you have to do what the teabaggers are doing. Go door to door and explain why we need health care, what is truth and what is fiction about the plan.
Teddy Kennedy always regretted that he did not take what he could get from Nixon. We would be light years ahead in health care if that plan had gone through. It didn't have every thing he wanted, but was a start. If you push your case hard enough people will get behind you and there will be no trigger. It takes work from the ground up. Thanks for asking. I figured the post would go straight to the bottom without one response. It's hard to get anyone out to help.

3. Yes, exactly people have to be calming peoples fears and that's the first task..

before we even get to whether the bill will be all we could hope for. The less fear the less dangerous things become. Good for you staying motivated and focused because despair is not an option, for however long we're here for. As you say Teddy never gave up on the American people, only right we never give up on his dream too.

4. Yeah, I don't buy that...
What good is knocking on doors going to do?

The public option is clearly supported by the population (It's more popular than Obama!) and look at how many politicians don't seem to give a shit.

It's one thing to knock on doors during an election. Then you're trying to persuade people and get them out to vote. Well, we're not the ones voting this time. And the people voting don't seem to give a shit about what we want.

5. Congress is being bombarded by the right
Knocking on doors elected Obama. It will also help pass a good health care bill.
We are hugely outnumbered by the activists on the other side. The message is being framed by the right. We have to take it back.
If we don't get a bill through congress, we will once again be in the minority. You don't just roll up the sidewalk and go to sleep
until the next election.
