Yesterday public option gone and Olberman hysterical -- Today public option in and calm returns
Yesterday Cliffordu takes the day off and today he is back.

Coincidence?

I think not.

2. DU "stupid day" will return next week. No doubt about it.
The Politico staff is already working overtime on the next manufactured controversy.

5. Olberman was ridiculous. I turned the channel after his intro. He said Obama was ready to abandon
getting rid of pre-existing conditions and everything else. I knew that was total bullshit and turned the channel. He didn't just say the Public Option. Why is he blowing his credibility? I don't think he has a lot of it anymore.

19. Well, looks like it's Throw Keith Olbermann Under the Bus Day again at DU.
I really have to check my calendar more frequently. It's becoming harder and harder to keep track of the days when DU declares him a hero vs. the days when DU declares him a stupid tool.

21. Not throwing him under the bus, just describing his reaction . . .
He does tend to get excied when things don't go the way he wants.

22. He knee jerked on this one. Usually he's right.
But this time he went with rumors from a less than credible media and got caught looking a little silly. He should have held off until he heard it from a named source who is credible.

So what if people call him on it? He hurts his credibility when he does this stuff and there is no reason to hero worship him when he screws up. He ought to know it.

Overall, I'm glad he speaks truth to power. He just needs to stop jumping the gun based on unsubstantiated rumor.

23. No its give Keith a standing ovation for outstanding acting in commentary

Sometimes KO says something for effect and not because he actually believes it.

Citing no sources he wanted to add fuel to the Progressive fire in the belly - keep them agitated and phoning.

Some people thought he was playing it straight - he wasn't he was jerking us around a bit.

16. Odd story about Uhurah's real life son and I -
He was an actor in a couple of failed tv shows back in the '70's - and got out of hollywood and spent a summer in Eugene, Or. where I was living at the time.

I was playing the guitar on the street then - he joined me one day - we sounded pretty good and we wound up playing guitar together all summer long....

It was great fun. He played guitar pretty well, IIRC.

And I though his mom was hot.

18. Gene Roddenberry also thought she was hot
In her autobiography Beyond Uhura, actress Nichelle Nichols, who played Uhura in the first Star Trek series, reported having had a love affair with Roddenberry. She felt that his effort to get her on the show had a lot to do with their relationship.

Here is Kyle Johnson, Nichelle's son
