Kennedy Funeral Coverage: Broadcast Network Plans

And here are some the early details of how Sen. Kennedy's funeral mass in Boston and burial service in Arlington National Cemetery will be covered by the broadcast networks tomorrow:

Saturday morning, Kate Snow will anchor "GMA" from the JFK Library in Boston. At approximately 10:30amET ABC News will broadcast live coverage of the funeral Mass anchored by Charlie Gibson. At approximately 5:30pmET, Gibson will anchor coverage of the burial service. Throughout the coverage, George Stephanopoulos, Terry Moran, Snow, John Berman, and Susan Milligan will be joining Gibson. Gibson will also anchor "World News" in the evening.

CBS News will cover the memorial live Saturday morning starting at 10amET with Harry Smith anchoring from New York.

Starting at 10amET, Brian Williams will anchor NBC News coverage of the funeral Mass. At 5:30pmET, NBC News coverage will resume for the burial service. NBC News' coverage will be supplemented by reporting from Andrea Mitchell, Anne Thompson, Kelly O'Donnell, Lester Holt, Mike Taibbi, Mike Viqueira, Norah O'Donnell, and Savannah Guthrie.

Saturday, Senator Edward Kennedy's funeral services will be held in Boston and in Arlington National Cemetery. Here are some of the early details about how those events will be covered by the cable networks:

Fox News will have "Fox & Friends" at 7amET with Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson, and Brian Kilmeade until 10amET when Shepard Smith will anchor special coverage of the funeral Mass with Martha MacCallum on location in Boston. From 5-7pmET, Chris Wallace will anchor coverage of the Arlington National Cemetery services. At 7pmET, Smith will host a special edition of "FOX Report" until 8pmET.

CNN's special programming will begin at 10amET with Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper anchoring the funeral Mass coverage. John King will be providing additional reports on the ground. Blitzer and Cooper will again anchor for coverage of the Arlington services starting at 4pmET. CNN's regular programming will feature updates throughout the rest of the day.

CSPAN will air the Mass live 10:30amET-12:30pmET from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica in Boston and the burial service live at 5:30pmET from Arlington National Cemetery.

At 8amET, MSNBC will broadcast a special "Morning Joe" with Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. Starting at 10amET, Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann will anchor coverage of the funeral Mass. At 2pmET, MSNBC will run an encore presentation of "The Kennedy Brothers" documentary. From 3-6pmET, MSNBC will have coverage of the burial services.

3. Looks like CSPAN's going
to be on in my house tomorrow. The relentless chatter, in the fear of 'dead' air drives me crazy.

4. Watched CSPAN for quite a while last night
just the quiet never ending procession of people of all ages, all colors, some not even looking, others crossing themselves or wiping away tears, a few stopping to give a military salute... what oter comments were needed?

5. C-SPAN is the best for
watching a ceremony (funeral, swearing-in). No talking heads babbling, just the action as it happens.

hate the mindless chatter~ I can usually figure things out for myself, and who on God's green earth would watch Fox and Fiends for something like this???
