The instructor at my Basic Life Support class last night buys the RW lies about health care reform

She said she's an OR nurse at her day job, and teaches CPR, BLS, ACLS, etc at night. Most of the class was either health care students, or health care providers who were renewing their licenses. And she made a comment that "Once we get 'Obamacare', we'll all have to work for free." I really wanted to say something back to her to refute that, or to at least tell her that I'd appreciate it if she left politics out of the class. But since I needed her to sign off on my license later that night, I bit my tongue and kept my mouth shut. None of the other students said anything either.

I'm a food service manager and have to re-cert in first aid and CPR every year.
As soon as the class is done, the instructor passes out a brief critique (1-5 star rating) on a few topics as well a written comment section.
I would have blasted her.

You can bet that if she had said that everything will be wonderful once we get Obama's reform passed some of her students would complain. An offhanded political comment has no place in that setting.

She's to do a job not preach politics for either team. Let them know you were very disappointed that the instructor used her time to preach politics. Don't go into why you think she is wrong, then it looks just like 'sour grapes' so to speak. Just complain that you would prefer if instructors would keep politics to themselves.

I would have told her she was dead wrong right there on the spot and requested another instructor to certify me.
It's complacency and the old 'don't want to be confrontational' attitude that is allowing the RW'rs to run all over the place yelling, spreading false info because there is hardly anyone that wants to stand up and be counted for fear of what????

I stand up every single day but in the end, it is worth it as I am NOT giving quarter to any nutjob, no matter who they are (or think they are)

The instructor is unlikely to not certify you because you showed everyone what a complete moron she is. Generally, the world doesn't work that way. For one thing it would probably cost the instructor her job.
