the decrease in the COST of health care going forward?
That is...if my taxes increase to pay for health care reform (and they will, in some way or other...I fully expect to have to pay some $$$ for a big change like a health care reform act; maybe not this year, maybe not next year, but eventually I'll be paying some $$$ to pay for the reform). But if my taxes increase, do you think the number scrunchers are taking into account the fact that MY health care costs are likely to go down in the future?
Even if I continue w/my private plan that my boss provides, my health care costs, overall, should go down in the future, as ins. cos. seek to compete, and because of increased regulation, and maybe even a little forced negotiating? My boss pays premiums, but maybe my deductible will decrease? Or my pay can go up a bit because premiums go down? The amount that I have to pay, after ins. co. pays its part...that may go down, too?
If it's true, as Obama says, that one of the goals of health care reform is to control costs, shouldn't our costs go down in the future? You think they consider that, when figuring the cost of the reform itself?
Or do I have it all wrong, that costs will go down?
