Poll question: I would rather have a Republican than a Democrat?
Edited on Sun Aug-16-09 06:37 PM by denem
This is not a loyalty poll: It's about emotion rather than voting intentions or activism. I created it after a poster wrote they would rather have a conservative Republican than a conservative Democrat. NOTE: A liberal / progressive Democrat is NOT available.

9. Obviously I would rather have a REAL Democrat in any office.
Failing that, you're probably better off with an admitted Repuke than a DLC'er or a Blue Balled coward, because at least you KNOW what you're getting. You don't have someone tell you they're a "Democrat" and campaign on being FOR the people and then stab you in the back, once they're in office.

11. Well, here's Al hyping up Saddam's WMDs (1992)

To make a long, dreary story short, second-guessing on outcomes of events we'll never get to live through is not logical. We don't know.

12. I would take
10 more Ted Stevens and Larry Craigs over 10 more William Jeffersons and Blagojevich's. The later do us more damage than the former do the R's.

When it comes to a Joe Lieberman vs an Olympia Snowe, it gets less clear cut. I suspect we would be in a much better position right now if Lieberman had gone to caucus with the R's, because then no one could pretend that D's have a true supermajority, and we might have more luck blaming the R's for being the obstructionists, and taking them down for it.
