FauxNews Runs Background Check on Little Girl Who Asked Question at President Obama’s Town Hall
Fox News Runs Background Check on Little Girl Who Asked Question at President Obama’s Town Hall

Fox News continues to plummet through the floor of decency, straight to hell where their masters reside.

Today, because they don’t have anything better to cover, they have decided to run a background check on the little girl who posed a question to President Obama.

1. They ought to have the decency to leave kids alone
The Freepers are probably searching for an address so they can harass this girl and her family. Sick freaks.

4. They are following up on this....
It's gone a bit Viral.... They are calling her a plant..

They are saying her mom is a high level campaigner, electoral college delegate, has had photo op with Obama, was invited and attended inaugural ball, and came from out of state to the town hall..

15. Yup
They are only going tit for tat about AstroTurf allegations... Or as they called this in the link I gave.. Astrosmurf..

I think all this tit for tat about who is authentic and who isn't is a bit silly....

27. No kidding.
If the president were speaking in Gary, Indiana and I had a chance to take my children with me...and get the chance for one of them to ask him a question...what does it matter if they were able to track my address down and find out I voted for Obama and live in Chicago?

Would I be looked at as a plant? Would my children?

10. Funny how they're trying to look as if they uncovered this -- they just cut and pasted a Boston
Globe article.

http://www.boston.com/yourtown/news/malden/2009/08/a_girl_from_malden_asked.html

Doesn't say anything about her being a "high level campaigner" or an "electoral college delegate" (and WTF would that matter anyway????) but she met Michelle Obama and Joe Biden during the campaign. She sounds more like a political junkie than anything else.

So, using Fox's reasoning and that of the RW blogosphere, I guess a grand majority of Americans aren't allowed to attend town hall meetings or ask questions, lest they be deemed "plants."

The little girl said she might like to run for President one day.

Here she is with the President after the rally:

22. Dude..
Don't come crashing down on me...

Read the link I posted, it's not a copy from the Globe.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=911911&page=1

They show pics of her in her gown at the inaugural ball where she met Biden.. Pics are in her picasa album.

How many normal supporters get invited to that?

She's obviously not the average Obama supporter.

Not that it really matters.

It's just folks on the right trying to stifle the AstroTurf claims against them..

16. Pay back is a B ~ GW had nothing but plants in the audience

Plants always behind him and using American Soldiers to sit behind him and looked like they supported him.
Plants for our side -- a child who has a Mom that was interested in politics?

Good for her!

Very few from NH asking questions. 2 of the locals work for the High School.

11. JD, check out my comment #10. It's a Boston Globe article link.
Yes, the little girl is from Massachusetts.

I'm sure there were quite a few out-of-staters there, being that the WH didn't screen attendees and all of the passes to attend were randomly distributed electronically.

Anyway, the gist of what Fox is reporting is all true, it's the way they've spun it that is grossly disingeneous.

14. Mass and NH are like neighboring suburbs, especially when it comes to politics.
Even a minimally-informed pol junkie knows that much.

17. There is absolutely nothing wrong from being from Massachusetts,
which last time I looked, borders Massachusetts. Working for the high school also seems a perfectly reasonable thing - what's your point?

12. While FOX is, as per usual, putting a nasty spin on all things progressive, Boston Globe
Edited on Wed Aug-12-09 02:25 PM by rvablue
interviewed this girl and her mother after the event.

Yes, she is from Mass.

Yes, her mother voted for Obama, sent him a campaign contribution, and has "met" (on a rope line, maybe) Michelle Obama and Biden.

Who cares? I guess Fox thinks they can turn this into red meat, frankly there is no there, there.

If the woman and her daughter were "plants" why would they have immediately outed themselves after the event.

Fox didn't UNCOVER this. They just CUT AND PASTED a Boston Globe interview.

It's all right here -- straight outta the mother's mouth:

26. She was invited and attended the eastern inaugural ball
And is more than an average supporter clearly.

It's just the righties playing their "gotcha" games for the AstroTurf accusations of out of state protesters bussed in to town hall meetings..

Which have pretty much been dropped now anyway.

I feel bad for that poor little girl though, she doesn't deserve to be used as a political football like this.

I cannot really think of any presidential event that isn't mostly staged ever in our history.

That's just what they do.

28. I can. The one we saw yesterday wasn't staged.
And if you are referring to the kid and her mother referenced in the OP -- as being evidence of "staging" -- you are FOS.

I'm sure the WH would have preferred that such ardent supporters weren't the ones asking questions -- but there wasn't much they could do as THEY DID NOT SCREEN ATTENDEES -- as all of the tickets were randomly distributed electronically to those who has signed up to attend.

So, I can think of an event that wasn't staged and that is the town hall that happened in Portsmouth yesterday!

All the participants were bused in, no hard questions.

Even Obama said it looked staged.

No need to get nasty about it.

30. My father in law worked in Mass and lives in NH
Portsmouth borders Maine. Lots of folks live in one state and work in the other.

Happens all the time.

That is NOT the same as insurance execs renting a coach bus and loading it up with astroturfers to create havoc at town hall meetings.
