wow. Dems are getting their messaging together. Case in point? "tort reform".
the message is slowly getting out there about how much of a red herring tort reform on malpractice cases really is. For years, as there has been focus on this problem, the overall amounts related to medical malpractice awards has gone DOWN. Meanwhile, health care costs continue to skyrocket. This is perfect. There are other strong pieces of data about how even allowing for "defensive medicine" is only about 1% of health care cost. Which pales in contrast to the costs around treating diabetes related to being overweight and other lifestyle issues.

1. Also, if everyone was covered for healthcare...
who would need to sue just to get the medical care they need after a mistake or even negligence?
