Tables at Townhalls where seniors can reject their government healthcare & donate it to charity?
Why not? And all the protesters can sign a binding contract to donate their future Medicare to charity since they disapprove of it so much. Let them all put their money (and our government dollars) where their mouths are?

4. Except they don't get it that Medicare is a government health plan
strange as it sounds. It's like Social Security - because they've seen a separate tax for these programs on their pay stubs, they think they've paid for these programs themselves. It's like they think there's a vault somewhere with their name on it and that's where their FICA and Medicare taxes are kept until they need to draw on the accounts.

There's a complete disconnect with them about the realty of how Social Security and Medicare are funded.

I could think of no better way to go after these asshats... I'm going to do it at teabag events coming up. What a great idea!

5. I would be careful with this tactic.
If it could be sure that only the right wing idiots did this then it might be okay. Otherwise, those in need would suffer because they were easily mislead by the ass-wipes.

I would hate for this to bite us in the ass because we provided the idea to them and were involved one on one with it.

Now if it was the ass-wipes that encouraged their followers to do it then it would be a different animal because the the fall out would be on them not us.

8. I suggested this over at HuffPo. Pass a hat around and tell
the protesting seniors to dump their Medicare cards in it. Medicare is, after all, "socialized," government health care.

9. Great idea!
I predict lots of deer-in-the-headlights looks.

Time for these folks to get educated about their own health care.

10. DUer proud2BlibKansan has a plan
In this thread

she talks about creating a form that renounces one's medicare coverage. This is to be given to those who protest government run health care. Kind of like giving military enlistment papers to RW nut jobs at patriot rallies.

I like it.

11. The same with the Congress who keep trashing gov't health care - let them
renounce theirs as well.

13. Yes - Have a sign that says "Sign the pledge to refuse government run healthcare"
Edited on Sun Aug-09-09 08:03 AM by Stephanie
Then hand them a form that says they refuse to accept Medicare and asks the government to take them out of the program. Promise to mail it to the government for them. Let them keep a copy.
